I believe we are most whole when we’re able to touch and care for the deepest parts of ourselves. But how do we find those parts? How do we hold them? Do we deserve wholeness?
These are some of the questions I’m most interested in helping you explore, whether you feel othered, alone, struggling, lost, damaged, or just curious about what else is possible.
I’m a counselor because I can think of no better way to spend my time than to sit with others and hear about what genuinely matters to them.
I especially enjoy working with couples as they navigate creating a life together. With couples I use an attachment lens, acknowledging that our most intimate relationships bring up intense emotions. I work to create a safe space where both partners feel heard. I also focus on increasing vulnerability and honesty in communication between partners.
I’m comfortable talking about your daily anxieties, life transitions, transformations and realizations, career and purpose, grief, relationships, pleasure, stress, and trauma. I want to help you discover your embodied sense of a life well lived so that you feel aligned in the world.
I’m deeply informed by an environmental and social justice lens. The challenges we face as a collective begin with the individual, and the individual is profoundly shaped by the collective. I’m also informed by my meditative practices and Buddhist psychology training. My approach to therapy is collaborative, and I welcome whoever you are today. This is your journey, and I’m honored to be a part of it.

I may not always have immediate availability. If so, we’ll respond right away with some alternative therapists specialized to your needs!

Before starting at Better Life, Sophie worked with elders and trauma survivors. She has experience with grief and loss from her work in equine therapy and at a hospital, where she provided support to cancer patients and their caregivers.
Sophie has a special interest in grief and men’s issues, and is undergoing training in those areas.

A little more about me:

I am an outdoor lover and spend lots of time taking walks around my home in Boulder. I have an 8lb chihuahua rescue mix who has done a great job adjusting to her new life with me and keeping up on the trails. I love dog and horse training, which is often how I spend my spare time. I find that it’s a great way to build connection with myself and the world around me. I’m new to Colorado, having grown up on the east coast, and one of my goals this year is to camp more and explore the mountains.
