My Approach to Therapy
My approach is warm, curious, and grounded in evidence. I believe meaningful change happens through both compassion and action: making room for difficult emotions, understanding the patterns that keep you stuck, and building concrete skills that help you live more in alignment with your values. I draw from acceptance- and mindfulness-based approaches, trauma-informed care, and strengths-based counseling.
Before coming to Better Life, I earned a PhD in neuroscience and studied how stress and trauma shape the body, brain, and long-term health. That background informs my deep respect for the ways our histories live in both mind and body. In our work together, my goal is to offer a supportive, nonjudgmental space where you can better understand yourself, reconnect with what matters, and take meaningful steps toward healing.
A little more about me… Spirituality and mindfulness are important parts of my life, and I enjoy making time for meditation and mindfulness retreats when I can. I feel most grounded in nature, with friends and family, and around a table with really good food. Hiking, skiing, laughter and shared meals are some of the ways I stay connected to joy and presence. I’m also perfectly content curled up with my cats and a good book.
